Our Culture...
Qijaser, The name behind everything
According to an old Maltese saying, in March the wheat grows, in April you tend to it, and in May you reap the harvest. From gold coloured fields, the grain would then be taken to a dedicated space for harvest.
The name “Il-Qiegħa”, shortened to Qija-Services and hence Qijaser, is derived from a traditional Maltese business venture. “Il-Qiegħa” played a vital role in the agricultural and economic life of the Maltese islands, particularly in the storage and distribution of processed wheat.
During the first and second World Wars, which heavily battered the Maltese Islands, the local government recognised wheat as a staple food for producing bread as an essential part of the local diet. ‘’Il-Qiegħa’’ often referred to underground granaries or open communal pits where harvested wheat was processed and stored, ensuring a stable supply for the population.
Qijaser Ltd was established in 2024, built on a solid foundation of over 10 years of dedication to fostering business connections, bridging services, and linking clients with local and international business ventures. At Qijaser, we take pride in supporting our clients with a blend of traditional values and modern expertise.
